|Title||[View of Soledad, Main Plaza and Dwyer Street]|
|Description||Looking south along Soledad Street, towards Main Plaza, Commerce, and Dwyer Street. The one-story R. Wulfing store (middleground, left) stands catercorner to the two-story Jack Harris Variety Theater (center), which fronts on Commerce Street. Opposite the theater, the columned façade of the James Vance House on Nueva Street can be seen in the far distance. The two-story Baker House stands across the plaza to the southwest (right) of the theater. Black and white.|
Baker House eventually becomes first Central Hotel and the St. Leonards Hotel in 1883.
Building in the center is the future site of the infamous "Fatal Corner," and Vaudeville theater. It served as the site for Devine and Attwater druggists in the 1850s and then as the Jack Harris Bar and Billiards in 1872. It did not become the theater until 1874/75.
Also, the R. Wulfing Co. lot is the future site of the Danenhauer Building.
